RAAVAN
Its been a long time I have blogged anything. And it been long time I
have read anything. Its time of COVID-19 that made me any time to read
something. The book that I read was RAAVAN by my favourite fiction
novelist AMISH.
The book has depicted the ancient tale of Ramayana of Hindu mythology. But all the story that we have known and studied from the childhood has been entirely shaken after reading the same.
Ramayana is an epic tale right from the time it has been written, but there are many things that are not into our understanding. The things like Rakshasa(Cruel Giant), do they really exists? Why in the first place Ravan kidnapped Sita? If it was his love towards her then why he didn't forcefully married Sita? And how the hell did they know about the place of Ram and Sita in the first place? How come Vibhishan and Shurpanakha knew where our heroes where?
The book RAAVAN third book in Ram Chandra Series have told us a lot of things. It told us how the life of Indians at that time. And all that Amish had told in the book is believable. When we think logically this can be what happened and that is why they have told pictured Ravan as a Rakshasa.
The book is beautifully written with lots and lots of logical thinking about the life at that ancient time. I personally think that a person cannot be cruel or ruthless by nature or by birth. They are made that way by the society. And that's what exactly Amish has told us. A man who was trying to do Dhaarmic deeds are being compelled to do ruthless deeds by the society. The circumstances has made him this way. A man desperate due to humiliation from his own father and a brother who wants to protect his sibling etc.. all have been beautifully pictured in the book.
The book is worth reading giving us the idea how the culture and society could have been in India during those ancient times.
Many things as we know it is not been said in the book but when we think this may have happened at that time. Nobody knows what happened actually and our only way to come to any compromise is that we have to believe what we have been told. At least that is the way that we know our culture existed.
Author is excellent in his way of thinking and remarkable in putting those things into writing. Hats off Amish.. Keep writing.. God Bless You!!...
